OA Day 2026 & Riding's & Leeman's (School House Odds & Evens)

On the 7 June we welcomed over 100 guests for OA Day, which this year was a reunion for School House Riding’s (formerly Odds) and Leeman’s (formerly Evens). The guests spanned over 80 years of education at Aldenham and it was delightful to see friendships being rekindled, memories shared, and generations of OAs reconnect with the school. Guests had the opportunity to visit School House and view photographic archives, the honours boards and their old haunts. The Chapel service led by Rev Tony was concluded with the singing of the school song which was sung with great gusto! Amongst the guests were former Housemasters and House Captains, who had a chance to reminisce during a drinks reception in School House Garden, before a lovely lunch in the Dining Hall with the School Grace superbly recited, without a script, by the eldest OA present, Alan Oliver (SHO1944-49).Throughout the day the John Dewes (B1940-45) cricket match (OAs vs current students) took place which ended with the John Dewes XI (OAs) winning by 35 runs where Kate Watts (CR1992-2017) took great delight in reconnecting with OAs who had started their Aldenham education in the Prep School during her tenure as Prep School Deputy Head (2013-17).Events like this highlight the enduring strength of our OA community.
