T A Hampson Mead’s / Paull’s 1932 – 1935
Re; Your request for information about life at pre-war Aldenham; I think it unlikely that anything I might recall after so many years will not be more accurately described by somebody else but I have two items of “tangible memorabilia” which I would be willing to lend if they are the sort of thing you are seeking: -
1) A piece of navy blue material from a blazer pocket carrying a raised (woven) badge i.e. The School badge with lion and shield etc, inscribed A.S 1935 R.C
(RC = Rifle Club)
2) A strong cardboard box, still in good condition but rather dirty after all these years, with azure blue edging and bearing the School badge (printed) with the words “Aldenham Vellum, Aldenham School Store, Elstree, Herts. It originally contained high quality headed notepaper and envelopes.
