As to the detailed Aldenham scene surely this was well covered by Crasswell, Titmarsh and others in the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s Aldenhamians.
What can I add? Not much except in financial flavour, that in 1933 when it was first available, a Mars bar cost 2d, How the mighty £ has fallen and the weapons of obesity perished.
